Some traditions are too good to skip because of bad weather. The Groton Lakes Association’s annual decorated boat parade and competition was held on July 8th in the quest for sunny weather.
Prizes were given to the vessel Captains whose decorations best expressed one of three themes: Patriotism (Board Room), Uniqueness (Lost Lake Horse) and best Non-motorized Achievement (Scott Neal/Ben Franklin).
Congratulations to the many creative boaters who transformed Lost Lake and Knops Pond into a sea of red, white and blue on Saturday, July 8. All boaters are invited, so stay in touch for for next year’s parade and the GLA Boating Poker Run, Saturday, August 26th.
