The Board of Selectmen last night rejected a line item transfer of funds to support the pilot weed control program on Baddacook Pond. The Water Commission and the Great Ponds Advisory Committee had previously agreed to donate a total of $6000 towards the $20,000 needed to fund this feasibility study.
The Groton Lakes Association is asking for tax deductible donations to make up the shortfall to fund this study. These donations are NOT for the 2017 annual spring donations to GLA nor do they include 2017 membership dues. They are strictly to help move this study forward. If this program is successful, next year an application to the Community Preservation Committee will be made to fund the entire weed control for Baddacook Pond.
The form below can be downloaded and filled out with checks payable to GLA. Please make a note that the funds are for Baddacook Pond on your check.
In addition, be aware that the GLA will need financial support to fund this year’s herbicide treatment of Lost Lake/Knops Pond. We need your continued support to sustain our success in maintaining control of the weed infestation.
Thank you,
Groton Lakes Association
